This Impreza was originally supplied to our customer in Spring of 2002 - as the best low mileage Version 5 Type R Sti we could find in Japan. When exported it had only 6,000 miles from new - and was of course in as new condition! This was the 3rd car supplied by Newera for this particular customer, who'd first bought a car from us in 1999. As an avid Japanese car enthusiast, he added modifications as listed below (At considerable expense!) to not only make the car safe for UK fuels, but to also increase power - whilst paying particular attention to the engine's health. In addition, handling upgrades have been added, as well as cosmetic ones. Essentially, for UK use - this car is perfectly prepared and a daily use car / weekend track weapon!
The Sti 5 Type R is considered by those who know - as the best of the Imprezas. Lightweight, complete with an uprated dashboard, lighting, etc. when compared to UK P1 models, this is a car that has extremely high cornering capabilities and limits combined with pin point handling, enhanced futher by the Sti suspension components fitted, together with TEIN coilovers with adjustable top mounts at the front, to dial out any understeer with. As it's fitted with a close ratio 5 speed gearbox (155 mph in top gear) combined with an adjustable centre differential, oversteer can be dialed it with the use of the throttle, as required - not something most Imprezas are able to do.. Only those with this particular feature!
As the Sti Type R can no longer be imported to the UK (There is no model report for this model, nor likely to ever become available), this is now a car that cannot be easily found in UK, especially with the extent of carefully chosen modifications this example is equipped with.
