Nowadays finding a good R32 GT-R is becoming increasingly hard as time takes it's toll and so few owners give these cars the care they deserve. Destined to become one of Japan's most prized classics, the good well looked after & rust free examples are strenghtening in price as collectors have begun to realise pristine examples are becoming a rare breed. This example has been beautifully preserved and endowed with a wide selection of parts to fine tune & improve every aspect of performance to provide a well prepared fast road / track spec GT-R. The sum of all parts fitted is mind-boggling. Clearly the previous owner spent vast amounts on this car regardless of cost to enhance it's performance.
Performance improvements: Power & handling have been improved to make a car that's as adept for attacking favourite country roads as marking it's presence at track events.
Engine and power changes include: Recent (Within last 20,000km) Nismo N1 engine (24U block) inclusive of: Nismo N1 pistons, oil pump & water pump, Naprec high response kit, 264 inlet & exhaust cams with Greddy vernier pulleys, all metal top end gaskets (with 1.2mm head gasket), Z32 (300ZX 3 litre twin turbo) air-flow meters, 555cc SARD injectors, Nismo uprated fuel pump, Nismo fuel pressure regulator, remapped ECU, HKS EVC 4 boost controller, Apexi Super Power intake kit, Greddy intercooler with hard pipe kit, bespoke high capacity oil cooler, Greddy alloy top hose, Koyo Type-Z alloy radiator, HKS 2510 twin turbos with uprated HKS actuators, Tomei elbows, Nismo stainless steel front pipe, Apexi RS Evolution stainless steel exhaust. Nismo engine and transmission mounts, Nismo Super coppermix 2 plate clutch, Cusco 2 way rear differential. Brake performance is sharpened with the use of 355mm Brembo F40 front brake setup with 322mm Biot rear brake conversion with R33 GT-R 2 piston calipers & BNR34 master cylinder.
Cusco Zero-2E coilover dampers are fitted in combination with Nismo front lower arms, Cusco front tension rods, pillow rear traction rods, roll centre adjusters, MFR tie rods & uprated rear subframe bushes. There's a Nismo front brace with integrated brake master cyl. brace and a 3 point Cusco rear brace combined with a KTS chassis rail brace too. Underneath there's an HKS Kansai chassis brace too. The car feels firm & well poised yet comfortable on the road. Inside are a Tech Edge wideband A/F display with amplifier located in the glove-box, controller & display for the HKS boost controller and 5 Defi gauges displaying: Exhaust Temp, Turbo boost, water temp, oil temp & oil pressure. These are fed by a Defi controller which allows user-settable warnings for each gauge, data logging, etc. Wheels are 18 inch Work Emotion CR Kai fitted with near new Dunlop Direzza Z1 Starspec tyres (Best road / track tyres currently on the market in Japan) of size 265/35R18.
Other improvements also include: Custom painted (Semi metal flake) engine covers, Nismo front bumper ducts, HID conversion for headlight main beam, R34 GT-R original option pedal covers, Carbon look handbrake & gear shift boots, Audio includes a Pioneer 1-DIN 180W hifi with security removable face & upgraded speakers at each corner. Electronic interior equipment is untested and supplied free of charge with this car.
Further Improvements recommended: As this car has a remapped original ECU and this is set for use in Japan, in order to safely run higher levels of boost we'd recommend an Apexi Power FC, to be mapped for UK fuels. We can supply used or new (With latest EL type display on hand held controller) and would recommend RK tuning as an excellent no nonsense experienced tuner to fine tweak an existing base map. To further modernise the looks of this car, R35 GT-R rear badge, crystal orange/clear/smoked front indicators and interior improvements such as KEY!S / Nismo steering wheel, Nismo floor mat set, etc . Standard equipment includes: ABS, Hicas 4 wheel steering, Atessa 4WD, Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, rear wiper, sports velour seats, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, interior, carpets, indicator stalk, pedal rubbers, oil pressure, etc. - all indicate low wear and no abuse.
Interior condition: It's very rare nowadays to find a BNR32 interior in such excellent condition. Dashboard, interior plastics, etc. are all in good condition.
The Tech Edge's digital display has 2 segments which don't show. This may be possible to fix easily by opening the unit and putting some pressure on the LCD back-side. The display is still legible and this doesn't affect the performance of the unit itself. There's a burn mark on the passenger door trim (See picture). A replacement can be obtained inexpensively if preferred (Interior does not smell of smoke and ashtray / cigar lighter are clean - it appears the last owner was a non smoker). The handbrake's original leather cover has shrunk with age - a carbon look replacement is available inexpensively too.
In the boot, the carpet has a couple of marks from wear when carrying goods in the past.
Exterior: The auction inspector stated the front has had a light accident in the past and the rear quarter panel has been changed. The front repair is not evident. On the rear, a telltale mark is the sealant in the boot shut area - which is different on the passenger side, when compared to the factory original driver's side (See pictures). Repair has been well carried out with perfect shut lines and paint match. The bodywork's in stunning condition and we noted the rolling of the rear arches has been professionally completed to high standard. There are no faults to report on the body itself aside from some broken clips on the passenger-side skirt moulding. These will be replaced with all new Nissan originals prior to shipment. The wheels have some scratching and peeling paint (light) on the edges. Perhaps in the future they could be re-painted or powder coated and a fresh set of original Work Emotion CR Kai decals added.
Engine & Test Drive: After careful warming and extensive checks we took this car out to test & can confirm it drives very, very well! It's got strong power and all signs of a well maintained car. Excellent oil pressure ((5kg/cm2 cold & 2.5 kg/m2 when warm) at idle shows this is a strong engine in good health. Engine has absolutely no signs of wear with strong oil pressure, it's super smooth too. Clutch feels near new & and the gearbox is notably smooth and lacking in any of the often found signs of synchro wear found on these cars. We test drove this example for around 5 kms and found no faults to report at all. Car pulls strongly from just under 3,000 rpm with power climbing all the way through the power range and the cams make the engine sing well at top of the rev range. Running at 1.2 bar this car will produce close to 500 bhp whilst offering tremendous levels of braking and road holding. Make no mistake - this is a car that will send your adrenalin levels rocketting if you drive it to full potential.
