The Glanza V Turbo with 5 speed manual is a rare car, especially in the spec you'll find this example equipped with! We've supplied just a handful to the UK, as amongst those we usually come across of pre 1997 (As there's no model report for these, post Dec 1996 cars cannot be imported to UK), we rarely see a real gem. This example, however - is the best we've found yet. Not only is condition outstanding, but the specification's excellent too - with every conceivable option fitted to this example, in addition to being the best colour these were ever made in. This car's for someone who wants the very best Glanza available. If we had a garage to collect the most special cars we select, this one would have been another to join the collection!!
Original Equipment: We've never before come across a Glanza V Turbo this well specified! Open the door and you're greeted by a a pair of reclinable Recaro seats, complete with rear seat trimmed in Recaro cloth too. Sills are trimmed with stainless steel plates. There's a tinted glass electric sunroof. Optional ABS and driver's SRS leather bound steering wheel are fitted. Glass is of blue-green tint, which compliments the colour of the car well too. Note there are wind deflectors also fitted. Each of these items was an expensive option when new. This has been a non smoker's car since new and the ashtray is fitted with a coin holder, etc. instead - The interior trim's unmarked. Standard central locking, electric mirrors with retract mode, air conditioning, power steering, electric windows with auto up/down on driver's side, rear wiper, original fitted mats are also fitted.

After Market Interior Equipment: The hifi head unit is one of the best available for the Japanese market. A Pioneer Mos FET 50W x 4 unit with MP3 compatibility, CD, MD and radio is fitted. We're not sure, but it appears this is also a CD changer with the ability to swallow 6 CD's.... Speakers are uprated too, at each corner. Around £1,200 worth of audio - when new, supplied free of charge with this car. Note the instrument surround on the dashboard is TRD Carbon look material. This is also fitted to the centre console and iserts on the doors for the electric switches. A matching white face HKS boost gauge is fitted. Note also the alloy pedal covers. On the dashboard is a solar powered radar detector.
Performance equipment includes: A Full Kakimoto Racing Stainless Steel Exhaust System (Standard Catalyst is retained in the Turbo Elbow for Ease of MOT). The engine has much improved response and performance with the improved breathing generated by the removal of the standard, restrictive parts. Engine sound is also much improved with the 1.3 16V Twin Cam Turbo sounding powerful even at idle, although not obtrusively loud on the Motorway, for example. In standard form the 4E-FTE Engine develops 133BHP at 6400rpm, using only 0.65 Bar boost. This example is developing in the region of 140BHP with improved breathing. An HKS boost gauge is already fitted to allow close monitoring of the boost level. In addition an earthing kit is also fitted, to improve spark plug performance. This car is suprisingly fast, and will undoubtabley shock many hot hatch drivers once rolling on UK tarmac!
With the addition of a boost controller or adjustable turbo actuator and an HKS fuel cut defencer, 160BHP is easily and safely achievable. These parts are readily available from our sister company www.neweraparts.com and fitting is available through our specialist performance tuning workshop.
Wheels, Suspension & Brakes: To make use of the increased driveability the suspension has been uprated with Kayaba damping adjustable suspension. Front & rear strut braces are fitted as standard, providing improved cornering rigidity. The factory wheels have been replaced with lightweight, forged and very strong Volk Racing TE37 15" alloy wheels, complete with 4 nearly new Bridgestone Potenza Grid III sports tyres of size 195/50 R15 82V. Note the blue annodised lightweight alloy nuts also fitted, complete with locking puzzle nuts and key. Brakes are in excellent condition with low wear to discs. Project Mu high performance pads are fitted.
Auction grade is 4. This confirms the outstanding condition of this 1996 model. Over £4,000 (equivalent) has been spent in Japan by the last keeper in improving this Starlet Glanza V to the specification detailed above.This example is the nicest we've found through regular searching in Japan's best auctions - which is of course why we bought this example for stock.
Having covered only 64,357 Miles from New, it's been beautifully maintained with regular oil changes every 3,000km. Oil has just been changed too. The cambelt was replaced at 57,014 miles (Equivalent) on 17th Jan 2004. The brakes have recently had new Project Mu performance pads fitted, which give excellent fade free performance.
There are two very small pin dents to the nearside quarter, each so small they are almost invisible. These are too small to warrant repair. On the bonnet there are some minor paint chips as shown in the slide show pictures. On the roof there are some very light scratches on each corner. Hardly noticable and not enough to warrant respraying the roof for - although this is available as an option if preferred, for additional cost. On the wheel rim of the n/s front there are also some light scratches - only minor. Faults have been described to give a full and accurate description of this car's condition. With Note also there is no corrosion at all to the underside - This car's never seen salt and looks to have always been garaged. no significant wear to seats, switches, mats, etc. and low wear to discs, it is evident this car's been stunningly well looked after!!
Clearly a cherished example all it's life, paintwork is both immaculate and very smooth-clearly having been polished regularly. If you can trust Newera's reputation, you'll know this is the best you'll come across. But hurry - We will NOT be able to find another as good as this ever again!
