Celica GT-4's with some improvements & top condition are becoming very difficult to find, even in Japan. Since selling the last example we had in stock, it's taken us 3 months of daily searching throughout Japan to find this example! We prefer to seek out the latest possible models to import to the UK, as these offer better value and specification than the typical 1994 models more commonly available.
As a late 1996 facelift model this GT-4 carries uprated specification which enhances the car well. Equipment includes: 4 piston signature brake callipers at the front, 4 channel ABS system, Dual SRS airbags, remote central locking, electric mirrors with retract mode, climate control A/C, PAS, electric windows, factory updated blue (instead of light brown) tint on windows, fitted mats. Mechanically, this car includes an original oil cooler, usual 4WD system, etc.
The factory updated specification also includes updated rear lights and boot spoiler. Please note: We will be including a set of clear front indicator lenzes with this car (These haven't been fitted already - because the SVA test will require these be orange when tested).
The front bumper - spoiler is a high quality original item from C-One Motorsport, which fits perfectly. Skirts are original polyeurethane optional items from Toyota. Suspension consists of uprated dampers with 25 mm lowered and uprated springs. Note that damping is adjustable from the top of each unit. Wheels are forged alloy Circular Super Turismo 17" items fitted with Bridgeston Potenza sports tyres in good condition.
Engine bay carries some performance improvements in the form of a large dump valve and a Blitz SUS Power induction kit. Exhaust (From cat back) is of stainless steel. This looks to be a Blitz performance design and gives a louder and fruitier than standard deep tone at idle and a more urgent tone under power... sounds great! These items combined release around 25 bhp over standard, although more would be available with the addition of a boost controller kit in combination with a boost gauge for monitoring. With the standard ECU fitted, 0.9 Bar of boost can be used safely in the UK.
Brakes as already mentioned, are the uprated type with 4 pistons at the front. Pads are near new at each corner and are of Acre (Japanese) brand. These have a heat range of 0-500 Dec C - and so give much improved performance over standard without need for warming before use.
Inside, Hifi is an older Carrozzeria (Pioneer) Tape/CD/Tuner unit of high power combined with a 12 disc CD changer in the boot. Although the head unit appears to be working, the display doesn't show anything at all. As with all our cars, audio equipment is included free of charge with this car. If preferred, we can obtain a used newer and higher quality head unit to be fitted in the UK. Note that an OZ Racing alloy gear knob is also fitted.
Interior is in excellent standard condition, with no faults to report - aside from lint on the seats. This car has been owned by a non smoker. Having driven this example, we found this car is in fine form mechanically. Performance is strong and all signs show this GT-4 has been driven gently. For example, there are no rattles and squeaks in the interior and an obvious lack of stone chips relative to the age of the car. It's been regularly serviced too. The oil shows signs of having been very recently changed and the timing belt was replaced at 55,909 miles (89,958 kms) on 25th October 2001. There is plenty of wear remaining on the clutch & brake discs too - a sign of not having been used hard. Of course, as with all cars in Tokyo, this is completely rust free underneath, so it'll last for many years.
The auction grade is 3 due to a front wing having been changed in the past (Copy of Auction sheet is shown with pictures). Although in beautiful condition, there are minor small faults on the bodywork as follows: There is a group of pin dents on the passenger door. The front bumper has some minor stone chips on the o/s edge. Also, there's one stone chip on the driver's A-pilar, which needs to be touched in. It appears there used to be a visor fitted over the rear window, as there are some chips to the upper edge of the tailgate. Although mentioned completely, each of these small faults are to be profesionally repaired as part of the total OTR price when the car arrives to the UK - so it'll be presented in immaculate body condition upon completion - to our usual high standards.
