This GT-R has been improved with only mild tuning to allow it to remain easily drivable and usable for every day use. It's in stunningly original condition throughout!!
Performance Improvements: The engine is basically set to stage 1 tune, with only breathing modifications to provide less restrictive flow of gases and thus improve performance to around 320 bhp at 0.75 bar standard boost. The twin turbo manifold downpipe is uprated with a large bore system, no catalyst, and a total of 3 unrestrictive straight through silencers. (Being a 1991 GT-R no catalyst is required in UK). Brake discs have been uprated at each corner with cross drilled Nismo rotors. The timing belt was changed at 78,014km (48,486 genuine miles) on 28th August 2003. Note that this car has been very recently serviced too. Judging by the lack of dents on the sills, we expect this car's been maintained solely by Nissan or similar. The ECU is standard and all that is stopping the car from having a further 50 bhp approximately. Please note that we are able to supply an Apexi FC ECU complete with controller at low price of £565 incl. hand held FC controller. We are also able to supply boost Greddy Profec B II boost controllers from £185. At time of writing, we also have some used or new strut braces in stock which would go very well with this GT-R also. Interior: Completely original and in excellent condition throughout. Steering wheel is also original and unmarked. Hifi is a Sony Cassette/Radio unit with 180 W Peak R.M.S. power. Note that the rear windows have no tint mesh fitted over them. This is preferred by some owners.
Aesthetic improvements: A full set of original R33 GT-R 17" alloys with Yokohama Advan sports tyres (size 245/40/ZR17) fitted at each corner. Note that although legal - these tyres are around 2/3rds worn and fairly old. It may be worth changing these for new items in the UK. Our UK workshop can offer tyres at discounted prices.
Standard equipment includes: Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, ABS, Hicas 4WS, velour seats, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained. The engine bay, seats, steering wheel, carpets, gear lever, indicator stalks, pedal rubbers - all indicate low wear and careful use. Although this car has been smoked in lightly before - there is no smell of tobacco, nor any burn marks on the interior. In any case, we will replace the ashtray so the car is as clean as can be upon presentation & completion. The driver's seat has no holes or badly worn fabric, as is usually found on examples that are not genuine.
Auction grade is 3.5 (Auction sheet is available). Condition of paintwork is as shown by pictures, absolutely outstanding throughout! There's no stone chipping to the front, which indicates this car's been smoothly driven and not at speed (It's still currently restricted to 112 mph - though will not be when completed). There's no scratches to door mirrors, no pin dents, no damage at all from carelessness. The rear bumper's got some very small bubbling to paint on the centre section above the number plate recess. The n/s quarter's C pilar has paint blend marks - so we checked carefully to see if there's any sign of accident. No signs at all, in fact, sealant, etc. is as the car left the factory. The rear spoiler has some minor scratches. These are the only faults we could find - and will be repaired as part of our preparation of tis GT-R in the UK. The front discs have some wear and when driving at speed we found they were slightly warped. Therefore, we'll fit new discs to the front as part of our work in preparing this car in UK (Discs will be supplied from Nismo or similar). Note that there are no dents on the sill's seams - which further indicates this car's been solely maintained at Nissan dealers or similar.
Engine & Transmission: Excellent oil pressure (4/cm2 at idle when cold - 3cm2/kg when at normal operating temp).
Clutch feels as if it has plenty of life remaining (Standard unit). We test drove this example and found it felt tight and very together. Idle is very smooth from start up, no rattles or squeaks from the interior.. It feels like a car that's never been driven hard and there is evidence this is the case, given that the paintwork is so original and spotless - with no stone chips gauned over the car's life in Japan.
This has been a one owner car since new. Clearly the last keeper polished it regularly to keep paintwork this good. All signs show this hasn't been a Skyline that's been driven hard and modifications are sensible to improve the car yet still allow it to remain relaxing to drive for daily use. We believe this car has been owned by a mature Japanese man,who has kept it garaged throughout most of it's life.
