This is only the second Deep Marine Blue GT-R we have come across that meets our usual high standards and the first V-Spec in BN6 colour code. As a late 1996 model, it's also the most recent spec. that can currently be SVA tested in the UK. This car's in stunning low mileage condition throughout!
Aesthetic improvements: A full set of probably the most sought after alloys on a Skyline - adourn this car. Original lightweight forged alloy Skyline R34 18" alloys complete with 245/40ZR18 Bridgestone Potenza Grid II tyres on each corner - less than half worn. Wheels are also in nearly new condition with no scratches at all!
Main Specifications: This is a rarer and more desirable V-Spec model, complete with active electronically controlled rear Limited Slip Differential and adoption of ATTESA E-TS PRO system for the 4WD bias control. The V-Spec has 10mm lower than std. suspension springs. Brakes are Brembo at each corner. Boost is controlled by the standard ECU to 0.84 Bar. As this is a 2nd revision model of the R33, it has double airbags, as well as the slimline steering wheel, which is of more attractive design than the earlier models. The front lip spoiler is also deeper than the first generation type. In this car's case, it's been colour coded.
Also included as standard: Climate Control A/C, PAS, Central Locking, ABS, velour seats, privacy rear windows, rear wiper, adjustable rear spoiler, original full set of fitted mats, etc. This car has evidently been fastidiously maintained.
Additional extras in the interior: Hifi is a top of the range Eclipse unit (Worth £1,200 new in Japan), which includes a 6 CD changer built into the unit, MD player, Radio and DSP Graphic equaliser - all with with 200 W Peak R.M.S. power. This unit is included free of charge with the car! Also fitted from new is a Nismo gauge cluster, complete with 320 km/h Speedometer, uprated Nismo rev counter and a carbon fibre look surround. Also fitted is a Mines gearknob. Made of heavy stainless steel, it weighs a lot - so it will dampen any vibrations transmitted through the gear lever and help make gear changes require less effort.
The engine bay, seats, steering wheel, carpets, indicator stalks, pedal rubbers, brake discs, exterior - all indicate low wear and careful use. This has also been a non smoker's car.
Auction grade is 3.5 (Auction sheet is available). Condition of paintwork is as shown by pictures, absolutely outstanding throughout!
On the o/s quarter there is one small pin dent. Also on the n/s quarter there are 3 small pin dents on the leading part - and a small scratch on the wheel arch. There are photos to show each of these faults clearly - although all will be repaired professionally to present this car to our usual high standards on completion. The many photos of this GT-R will show clearly this example was very carefully looked after, inside, outside and mechanically. Note that there are no dents on the sill's seams - which further indicates this car's been solely maintained at Nissan dealers or similar.
Engine: Excellent oil pressure (4/cm2 at idle when cold). Clutch feels as if it has plenty of life remaining (Standard unit). Brake discs are each almost new! We test drove this example and found it felt tight and very together. Idle is very smooth from start up, no rattles or squeaks from the interior, good smooth braking & stability. It feels like a car that's never been driven hard and there is evidence this is the case, given that the paintwork is so original and spotless - with no stone chips gained over the car's life in Japan.
This has been a one owner car since new. Clearly the last keeper polished it regularly to keep paintwork this good. All signs show this hasn't been a Skyline that's been driven hard and modifications are sensible to improve the car yet still allow it to remain relaxing to drive for daily use. We believe this car has been owned by a mature Japanese man,who has kept it garaged throughout most of it's life. Note that in the boot is a car cover that's been used for storage of this car, to keep dust off it.
This is one of the latest model GT-R's that can currently be imported to the UK (As there is no model report for GT-R's - nor likely to be one available any time soon, no post December 1996 GT-R's can be SVA tested).
